About the role

This position is for a Special Education Generalist in a self-contained classroom setting at Vegas Verdes ES, within Region Two.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained environment
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Implement behavior management strategies and interventions as needed

Qualifications

• Must possess or be able to acquire by time of appointment a teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education
• Must be certified in relevant subject area
• Must meet minimum qualifications as listed on the appropriate position vacancy announcement
