About the Role

As a Curriculum Resource Teacher, you will provide curriculum training and support to teachers, assist with curriculum implementation as directed by school leadership, and support prior week of NTI (New Teacher Induction). Your role includes conducting ongoing staff development, performing classroom visitations, collecting and reporting quarterly student data, and monitoring programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and conducts in-service training for all teachers regarding curriculum, researched-based instructional strategies, and best practices.
  • Provides support to school administration in preparation for New Teacher Induction (NTI) and Returning Teacher Orientation (RTO), approximately one week prior to the start of teacher training and one week post end of the school year to support close-out of end-year operations, as assigned.
  • Performs periodic classroom visitations, assists teachers in improving instructional performance, conducts binder reviews, and monitors improvement.
  • Demonstrates lessons in classroom settings for teacher observation.
  • Trains new teachers in the use of the applicable Student Information System (SIS) and school-based resources and procedures.
  • Facilitates grade level and/or subject area team meetings.
  • Serves as a resource to school administrators and content area teachers in identifying reading needs, adapting instructional techniques, and implementing reading strategies across the curriculum.
  • Assists with the development of school literacy initiatives.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports school and student benchmark data.
  • Initiates and maintains effective liaisons with district and professional associations to stay current on reading and instructional best practices.
  • Attends monthly CSUSA Curriculum Cadres.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Teaching certificate as appropriate.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of K-12 classroom teaching with demonstrable positive impact on achievement.
  • Demonstrated evidence of involvement in school activities involving leadership responsibilities and commitment to company values.
  • Possession of valid teaching certification (as appropriate).
  • Successful results of criminal and employment background check.
  • Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
  • Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.

Work Environment

  • Usual school working conditions; may be noisy during high student traffic.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity to dial a telephone, enter data into a computer, and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors, and on the telephone.
  • Ability to speak in audible tones so others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone.
  • Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height; ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
  • Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
