2026/2027 Grounds Keeper/Maintenance

About the role

The grounds position typically involves maintaining the grounds of the MTPCSD, including landscaping, mowing, and operating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Planting, weeding, and spreading mulch or other materials
• Cutting grass, edging, and watering lawns
• Driving and maintaining vehicles and equipment like mowers, tractors, and trucks
• Clearing snow and ice from walkways and parking lots
• Maintaining records of work orders, equipment maintenance
• Fixing grounds equipment and performing minor repairs to buildings
• Ensuring safety and following safety precautions

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the use and care of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to perform minor building repairs.
• Ability to plan, organize, and carry out work schedules efficiently.
• Responsible attitude towards job and fellow workers.
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
• Effective oral and written communications.
• Ability to work independently.
• Aptitude for detail.
• Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.
• Able to represent the school District in a professional manner, including confidentiality, communications skills, and ability to present a professional personal image.

Evaluation

The groundskeeper will be evaluated by the Buildings Director, at least annually in accordance with law, board policy, and the preceding job description.
