About the role

The Elementary Teacher Specialist will support the Hummel, John R. ES in providing specialized instruction to students with unique needs. This role involves collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and families to develop and implement individualized educational plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to students requiring specialized support.
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to develop and implement individualized educational plans.
• Work closely with families to understand student needs and progress.
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• A valid teaching license from the Nevada Department of Education.
• Experience working with students with special needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education preferred.
• Experience in a K-5 classroom setting.
• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using technology for lesson planning and data collection.

Pay
