About the role

This position is available at DESERT PINES HS in LAS VEGAS-DESERT PINES HS. The primary responsibilities include teaching students in a self-contained special education setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards
• Provide individualized instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to enhance student learning
• Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Participate in professional development activities to stay current with special education best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid teaching license in Special Education
• At least two years of successful teaching experience in a special education setting
• Experience working with students with disabilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Qualifications

• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding equal employment opportunity, and special education requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
• Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a safe and positive learning environment
