About the role

KIPP NYC is seeking teachers who can motivate and educate, develop academic and character skills, and make a college-preparatory education relevant now and for the future. The ideal candidate will plan a curriculum that combines KIPP NYC's standards, New York State Standards, and foster critical thinking. They will execute thoughtful, rigorous daily lessons, assess student progress, and communicate results to students, families, and colleagues. They will provide individual and small group instruction until all students achieve mastery, model KIPP NYC's character strengths, and advise a small group of students to succeed through their four years of high school.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred
  • New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture
  • A strong desire to become a better teacher by joining the KIPP NYC team
  • Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of students within our KIPP NYC communities

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary ranging from $70,829 - $136,704 per year

The role is based in NYC and requires travel to our schools. If you relocate outside of a commutable distance or out of the state of NY, your employment will be subject to review, which may include separation from KIPP NYC.
