KIPP NYC is a non-profit network of 18 free, public charter schools located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Responsibilities
- Planning a college preparatory curriculum that combines the school's standards, New York State Standards, and fosters critical thinking.
- Executing thoughtful, rigorous daily college preparatory lessons.
- Assessing student progress and communicating results to students, families, and colleagues.
- Providing individual and small group instruction until all students achieve mastery.
- Molding KIPP NYC’s character strengths in all interactions and communications with students, families, and staff.
- Advising a small group of students to succeed through their four years of high school.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills contributing to a collegial working environment and embodying the character traits we value: zest, grit, hope, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.
- At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area is strongly preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture.
- A strong desire to become a better teacher by joining the KIPP NYC team.
- Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of students within our KIPP NYC communities.
Additional Information
Compensation and Benefits: KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,829 - $136,704 per year. Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that accounts for years of experience relevant to the role, NYS initial or professional certification, and longevity within the KIPP network. KIPP NYC will evaluate a candidate’s years of experience, certification, and longevity at point of hire to determine the step/level a new hire will be placed within our teacher salary scale. This role is based in NYC and will require travel to our schools.
