2026-2027 Child Nutrition Substitute
The Delmar School District is seeking a Child Nutrition Substitute to support operations at Delmar Middle & Senior High School.
About the role
This position will assist in providing child nutrition services under the supervision of the Child Nutrition Director. The successful candidate will work closely with students, staff, and parents to ensure the smooth operation of the meal program.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and serving meals to students
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding meal programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum GED/High School Diploma
- Must be 21 years of age
- Satisfactory Child Protection Registry
- Mantoux skin test/PPD documentation
- Cool cooperative attitude
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Able to present information effectively
Qualifications
- State of Delaware requires all public school employees to undergo a criminal background check (state and federal)
- Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory criminal background check
- New employees must be paid by direct deposit and be part of a lag payroll system
Benefits
The position offers competitive compensation based on State of Delaware guidelines, with a starting hourly rate of $15.31.
Pay
The starting hourly rate is $15.31, subject to State of Delaware guidelines.
Schedule
The anticipated date of employment is as needed throughout the 2026-2027 school year.
