Duties & Responsibilities

  • Possess a deep understanding of learning theory, including the unique characteristics of gifted children, social emotional needs, and fostering creativity.
  • Demonstrate exemplary classroom instruction, utilizing gifted teaching strategies.
  • Understand and apply differentiation strategies effectively across all content areas.
  • Show a growth mindset and advocate for gifted learners by pursuing coaching opportunities.
  • Develop and implement differentiated curriculum to meet student needs.
  • Coach teachers in creating authentic assessment activities aligned with differentiated and integrated approaches.
  • Collaborate with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents, and community resources to enhance student outcomes.
  • Counsel students to improve performance, health, problem-solving techniques, and personal issues.
  • Engage learners to design an effective program addressing individual student requirements.
  • Participate in various meetings and respond to inquiries to convey and gather necessary information.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a job-related field.
  • Minimum two years experience teaching gifted students (pull-out, cluster, or self-contained).
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making to improve classroom instruction.
  • Training and experience in instructional strategies and planning for Grades 6-8.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Standard Professional Elementary, K-8 certificate from AZ Department of Education with Gifted and SEI endorsements.
  • Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card from the Department of Public Safety.

Knowledge

  • Read and understand technical information, compose documents, and facilitate group discussions.
  • Analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
  • Apply assessment instruments and prepare and maintain accurate records.

Skills

  • Perform multiple, complex tasks with a need to upgrade skills.
  • Operate standard office equipment and use relevant software applications.
  • Teach Arizona State recognized standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records.

  • Gather, collate, and classify data.

Physical Requirements
