The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) FASCO Recipients 2025
The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) recently announced the FASCO recipients for 2025. The FASCO distinction, introduced in 2007, honors members who have demonstrated exceptional volunteer service, involvement, and dedication to ASCO and the Association for Clinical Oncology.
- Jeanny B. Aragon-Ching, MD, FACP, FASCO: Specializes in medical oncology, particularly genitourinary cancers. She is the Clinical Program Director of Genitourinary Cancers at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute in Virginia. Her research focuses on prostate and bladder cancers, and she has contributed to clinical trials and publications in these areas.
- Himisha Beltran, MD, FASCO: A medical oncologist with expertise in prostate cancer. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Her research involves understanding the molecular mechanisms of prostate cancer progression and developing targeted therapies.
- Kathleen E. Bickel, MD, FACP, MPhil, FASCO: A hematologist-oncologist with a focus on palliative care and medical ethics. She practices at the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center and holds an academic appointment at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Her interests include improving communication between patients and healthcare providers and integrating palliative care into oncology practice.
- Sam Brondfield, MD, MA, FASCO: A medical oncologist specializing in hematologic malignancies. He practices at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. His research focuses on medical education, patient-centered care, and improving outcomes for patients with blood cancers.
- Shirish M. Gadgeel, MD, FASCO: A thoracic oncologist specializing in lung cancer. He is the Chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the Henry Ford Cancer Institute in Detroit, Michigan. His research interests include developing novel therapies for lung cancer and conducting clinical trials to improve patient outcomes.
- Sanjay Goel, MD, MS, FASCO: A medical oncologist with expertise in gastrointestinal cancers. He is a Professor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and practices at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York. His research focuses on translational studies and clinical trials aimed at developing new treatments for colorectal and pancreatic cancers.
- Michael S. Gordon, MD, FASCO: A medical oncologist specializing in early-phase clinical trials and drug development. He is the Medical Director of the HonorHealth Research Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. His work involves bringing novel cancer therapies from the laboratory to the clinic, with a focus on targeted treatments and immunotherapies.
- Stacy W. Gray, MD, FASCO: A medical oncologist and health services researcher. She is the Deputy Director, Center for Precision Medicine at City of Hope. Her research examines the integration of genomic technologies into cancer care and the impact of these technologies on patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
- Arjun Gupta, MD, FASCO: A medical oncologist with a focus on gastrointestinal cancers. He practices at the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center. His research interests include cancer cachexia, patient-reported outcomes, and improving the quality of care for patients with cancer.
- Richard M Ingram, MD, FASCO: A hematologist-oncologist practicing at Shenandoah Oncology in Winchester Virginia and serves as the medical director of Payer and Care Transformation within the US Oncology Network. Dr. Ingram also serves as President of the Virginia Association of Hematologists and Oncologists, Co-founder and Chair of the Appalachian Community Cancer Alliance, and is a Board Member of the Community Oncology Alliance.
