2025-26 CE Summer Enrichment Instructor (Non-Academic) - Community Ed

Essential Functions

• Communicates with teachers and/or parents for the purpose of conveying information.
• Maintains a safe and positive learning environment by monitoring individual and/or groups of students in various settings.
• Reports incidents including personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations, etc. to appropriate site personnel.
• Supports personnel by assisting in ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
• Responds to a variety of situations such as injured students, fights, vandalism, etc., to resolve immediate safety or security concerns and direct to appropriate personnel for resolution.

Other Functions

• Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g. securing gates).

Job Requirements

• Skills: Adhering to safety practices and procedures.
• Knowledge: Concepts of grammar and punctuation; stages of child development and learning styles; age appropriate activities; school safety and security practices; stages of child development and learning styles; age appropriate activities; concepts of grammar and punctuation.
• Ability: Scheduling activities; collating data; using basic, job-related equipment; working with a diversity of individuals; working with specific, job-related data; utilizing specific, job-related equipment; communicating with diverse groups; working as part of a team.

Work Environment

• Physical Demands: Some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; significant fine finger dexterity; 10% sitting, 45% walking, and 45% standing.
• Risk of Injury and Illness: Some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

Experience

Job related experience is not required.

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Testing Certificates and Licenses

Continuing Education/Training

No continuing education/training is required.

Clearances

• Criminal Background Clearance: Required through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS).
• Fingerprint Clearance Card: Required through AZDPS.
