About the Role
Career Readiness aims to ensure students are prepared for life after high school, whether they choose college, the workforce, or the military. The initiative provides opportunities for students to explore career options, understand their strengths, and identify their passions.
The State of Michigan developed the Michigan Career Development Model, which outlines required actions for districts to strengthen Career Readiness in schools. Oakland Schools has identified three key targets to guide these efforts and meet state requirements.
Targets
- K-12 Target (EDP Completion): Ensure completion of Educational Development Plans (EDPs) across all grade levels.
- Elementary and Middle School Targets: Implement age-appropriate career exploration and development activities.
- High School Pathful Target: Utilize the Pathful platform to support high school students in career planning and readiness.
