About the role
This position provides services related to patient food service, cafeteria services, and catering. It includes assembling patient trays, delivering and collecting trays, preparing and delivering meals, monitoring food temperatures, maintaining sanitation standards, and operating food service equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assembles patient trays
- Delivers/collects patient trays to/from the patient safely and accurately
- Prepares and delivers nourishments to patients according to established procedures
- Portions food items for patients and guests according to department standards
- Maintains proper temperature control of all food products to assure food safety
- Limits, dates, rotates, and stores all products in foodservice area
- Operates all food service equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and in a safe manner
- Maintains sanitation standards and cleans equipment daily in accordance to standards
- Attends in-service education and department meetings and adheres to hospital/department policies and procedures
Requirements
- Current County issued Food Handlers card or online card obtained through StateFoodSafety.com within 1 week of hire
- High school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a current County issued Food Handlers card or online card obtained through StateFoodSafety.com within 1 week of hire.
Skills
Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital. Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests. Must be able to read and follow written work assignments.
