About the role
This position provides services related to patient food service, cafeteria services, and catering. It includes assembling patient trays, delivering trays to/from patients, preparing and delivering nourishments, monitoring food temperatures, maintaining sanitation standards, and operating food service equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assembles patient trays
- Delivers/collects patient trays to/from the patient safely and accurately
- Prepares and delivers nourishments to patients according to established procedures
- Portions food items for patients and guests according to department standards
- Maintains proper temperature control of all food products to assure food safety
- Limits, dates, rotates, and stores all products in foodservice area
- Operates all food service equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and in a safe manner
- Maintains sanitation standards and cleans equipment daily in accordance to standards
- Attends in-service education and department meetings and adheres to hospital/department policies and procedures
Requirements
- Current County issued Food Handlers card or online card obtained through StateFoodSafety.com within 1 week of hire
- Frequent standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 30 pounds)
- Ability to work in a noisy setting and under deadline pressures
- Work area may be hot, cold, and/or wet
Qualifications
Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills and Abilities
- Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests
- Understands assigned areas, necessary supplies and equipment
- Reads and follows written work assignments
