201078 - Food Service Worker (PT)

About the role

This position provides services related to patient food service, cafeteria services, and catering. It includes assembling patient trays, delivering trays to/from patients, preparing and delivering nourishments, monitoring food temperatures, maintaining sanitation standards, and operating food service equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assembles patient trays
• Delivers/collects patient trays to/from the patient safely and accurately
• Prepares and delivers nourishments to patients according to established procedures
• Portions food items for patients and guests according to department standards
• Maintains proper temperature control of all food products to assure food safety
• Limits, dates, rotates, and stores all products in foodservice area
• Operates all food service equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and in a safe manner
• Maintains sanitation standards and cleans equipment daily in accordance to standards
• Attends in-service education and department meetings and adheres to hospital/department policies and procedures

Requirements

• Current County issued Food Handlers card or online card obtained through StateFoodSafety.com within 1 week of hire
• Frequent standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 30 pounds)
• Ability to work in a noisy setting and under deadline pressures
• Work area may be hot, cold, and/or wet

Qualifications

Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: High school diploma or equivalent.

• Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests
• Understands assigned areas, necessary supplies and equipment
• Reads and follows written work assignments
