Responsibilities
- Advocate and support adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can.
- Act as a caregiver for individuals within the group home, including household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc.
- Assist individuals to medical appointments, banking, community outings, and participation in community activities.
- Administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and adhere to medical guidelines.
- Safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.
- Maintain certifications, handle job-related duties in compliance with Agency policies, and follow all DDS regulations/policies.
Qualifications
- Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives.
- Varied interests and personal connections in the local community.
- Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer or school history).
- Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team.
Requirements
- High School Degree or G.E.D.
- Must be 21+ years old.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Daily use of a car on site (preferred but not required).
- Available by telephone for daily contact.
Pay
$19.50 - $21.00 per hour
Schedule
Part-time: 29 hours per week
Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
