2-year-old Assistant Teacher – 5-days a week

About the role

The 2-Year-Old Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment where children learn through purposeful play and hands-on experiences. The Assistant Teacher helps incorporate academic concepts in meaningful ways while using PWPBS strategies and positive guidance techniques to support social-emotional growth and encourage positive behavior.

Responsibilities

• Safety and care of children
• Helping the lead teacher implement academic curriculum using Creative Curriculum, the Standards and Benchmarks for Florida, NAEYC, and Positive Behavior Support
• Learn and implement PBS (Positive Behavior Support) strategies within the classroom
• Interaction with children and their families
• General support to the lead teacher
• Provide care for diapering needs
• Clean room at the end of the day

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with a group of children in an educational or catholic setting
• Positive, creative, caring, and energetic personality
• Able to work with the lead teacher during a variety of daily activities to engage children
