1st Shift Welder

About the role

Welders join metal parts using high heat application to form permanent bonds. Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures and ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
• Plan work by interpreting blueprints
• Determine welding position and type of metal to be fused
• Select and set up welding equipment
• Ensure welds meet standards and specifications

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Certificate or Associate degree in welding
• Minimum 1 year experience in welding
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Team orientation
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be able to identify exact measurements on a tape measure
• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: reaching, standing, walking, pushing, grasping
• Close visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection, using measurement devices, and assembly or fabrication of parts
• Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures

Preferred Qualifications

• Crane operation experience
• Forklift operation experience

Job Conditions

• Inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
• Hazards: Includes proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals

Pay

USD $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule

• Full Time
• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
