1st shift Weld Team Lead Assistant

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coordinate, and prioritize daily welding and fabrication activities to meet production goals
• Provide hands-on leadership in MIG and TIG welding (carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel)
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work orders with accuracy
• Inspect weldments to ensure high-quality workmanship, proper penetration, alignment, and dimensional accuracy
• Train and mentor team members to improve skill level, productivity, and performance
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, PPE requirements, and company policies
• Troubleshoot fabrication and welding challenges to minimize downtime
• Maintain accurate production records and ERP system entries
• Support continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce waste

What We’re Looking For

• A High School diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of welding experience, including leadership or supervisory experience
• Welding certification preferred
• Advanced knowledge of MIG and TIG welding processes
• Ability to weld in all positions with consistent, high-quality results
• Strong blueprint reading and fabrication math skills
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Basic computer and ERP system experience
• A strong work ethic and reliability
• Team-oriented work environment
• Commitment to safety and quality

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to noise, welding fumes, and seasonal heat
• Must be able to stand for extended periods (10+ hours)
• Frequent lifting and material handling up to 50 lbs
• Required use of PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, helmets, and hearing protection
