Responsibilities
- Lead and develop all warehouse staff to create a positive and engaged team environment.
- Motivate the warehouse staff to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations as reviewed during routine huddles.
- Establish and reinforce operational, delivery, and warehouse safety, maintenance, compliance, and cleanliness standards.
- Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.
- Verify orders for accuracy and quality at every stage of receiving and shipping process.
- Operate all equipment necessary for material handling such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other relevant equipment.
- Follow shipping and receiving standard operating procedures (SOP) for both paperwork and electronic systems processes.
- Recommend maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications to warehouses, buildings, and grounds.
- Organize warehouse space and inventory to meet safety, efficiency, and inventory control standards for storage and transport.
- Monitor drop points and remote warehouse locations and coordinate with other branches to ensure high customer service.
- Foster strong communication between employees, management, and other departments.
- Able to operate fully as a backup in all warehouse positions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of warehouse experience in retail, wholesale trade, or similar environment.
- Some supervisor/management experience.
- Forklift experience and/or certification.
- Proficient with all technology and inventory control systems.
Other Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of the industry and best practices for warehouse operation.
- Experience in the flooring industry is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with consistent, accurate, and quality work output.
- Team player, who respectfully and courteously interacts with other team members to encourage positive results.
- Able to walk or stand for a long period.
- Must be able to regularly lift to 75Ibs.
- Able to wear work boots and meet the standard of the company’s workplace safety (if applicable).
- Pass a background check and drug test for pre-employment screening.
