About the role

API Heat Transfer is a global leader in the design and manufacture of specialty heat exchangers and heat transfer solutions. Founded in 1969, Thermal Transfer Products (TTP) specializes in a complete line of catalog-based air- and water-cooled products serving mobile and industrial hydraulic markets.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble units according to blueprint prior to welding.
  • Set up and run automatic welding machines to blueprint tolerances.
  • Weld components manually using both MIG and TIG welding.
  • Position and secure work pieces using hoists.
  • Weld using a welding positioner/turntable.
  • Inspect product and equipment for defects and malfunctions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Welding certification from an accredited Technical School preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a functional knowledge of hand tools.
  • Able to interpret blueprints and measurements.
  • Proficient in GMAW (gas metal arc welding) and GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding).
  • Able to adjust machines to different material thickness.
  • Able to self-manage with a diverse workload.
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Able to lift to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift).
  • Walking: Frequent walking throughout the production floor.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Regularly lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds. Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials.
  • Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging).
  • Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools.
  • Climbing: Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas.
  • Visual and Hearing Requirements: Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges. Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
  • Environmental Tolerance: Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions). Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
