About the role
Dover Precision Components (DPC) is a division of Dover Corporation, focusing on pumps and process solutions. DPC operates globally, serving markets like oil & gas, power generation, marine, industrial, chemical, and general processing. The company designs and manufactures critical equipment components to promote cleaner energy and efficient manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Reads process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining tasks, dimensions, and setup requirements.
- Mounts workpieces between centers, in chucks, or to faceplates.
- Adjusts numerical displays to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machining speeds.
- Inspects machined pieces and subsequent pieces for conformance to specifications using measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.
- Cuts internal and external threads as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 7+ years of experience in manual machining
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience machining finish-grade components to tight tolerances
Qualifications
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Ability to review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
- Ability to set-up manual machines and/or program CNC machines independently.
