About the role

Dover Precision Components (DPC) is a division of Dover Corporation, focusing on pumps and process solutions. DPC operates globally, serving markets like oil & gas, power generation, marine, industrial, chemical, and general processing. The company designs and manufactures critical equipment components to promote cleaner energy and efficient manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Reads process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining tasks, dimensions, and setup requirements.
  • Mounts workpieces between centers, in chucks, or to faceplates.
  • Adjusts numerical displays to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machining speeds.
  • Inspects machined pieces and subsequent pieces for conformance to specifications using measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.
  • Cuts internal and external threads as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 7+ years of experience in manual machining
  • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Experience machining finish-grade components to tight tolerances

Qualifications

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Ability to review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
  • Ability to set-up manual machines and/or program CNC machines independently.

  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Reading Comprehension – Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
