1st Shift Sanitation Associate - DC04

ADUSA Distribution is the distribution company of Ahold Delhaize USA, providing distribution services to one of the largest grocery retail supply chains in the nation. Facilities handle a mix of product types, including fresh, frozen, grocery, and health and beauty care items. The team supports the supply chain network evolution to an integrated self-distribution model, serving leading omnichannel grocery brands like Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford, and Stop & Shop.

About the role

As a Sanitation Associate, you will maintain all sanitation standards established by the Distribution Center to ensure a clean and safe work environment for all associates.

Responsibilities

• Pick up debris, empty trash cans, and remove spills promptly.
• Dust racks, doors, lights, and other surfaces.
• Sweep and mop slots, floors, and outside areas to maintain safety and sanitation.
• Clean sanitation equipment, including sanitation boxes and mops.
• Maintain equipment daily by topping off fluids, cleaning brushes, and washing equipment.
• Follow good sanitation practices; keep work area clean and free of debris.
• Report equipment and pallet jack problems to maintenance.
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with ADUSA Distribution standards in accuracy, safety, and productivity.

Requirements

• Able to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs. of equipment.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (e.g., cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).
• Able to work the needed schedule to perform assigned duties.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school education.
• Certification on powered industrial equipment (training provided).
• Familiarity or experience in a distribution environment.

Skills

• Able to meet production standards set by the company.
• Able to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
• Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
