Position Summary

The Roller Assembler completes assembly and packaging processes according to established operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performing assembly based on drawings and supervisor instructions
  • Following supervisors' instructions of work to be performed
  • Performing self-inspection of work to ensure quality and compliance to specifications
  • Using computer to record assembly status
  • Following safety instructions and rules
  • Working overtime and assigned shifts as needed
  • Complying with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures
  • Ensuring sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of machine assembly experience

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand complex assembly drawings and blueprints
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Team orientation
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Physical Requirements

  • Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Stooping: bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
  • Kneeling: bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees
  • Crouching: bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
  • Reaching: extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
  • Standing: remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Walking: moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another
  • Lifting: raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position
  • Fingering: picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers
  • Grasping: applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
  • Feeling: perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly fingertips
  • Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
  • Visual: close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes

Working Conditions

  • Inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
  • Hazards: proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
  • Atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation
  • Oils: air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids
  • Required to function in narrow aisles or passageways

Pay

USD $18.00 - USD $21.00

Schedule

Full Time | 1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 5:00am - 1:30pm
