1st Shift-quality Technician
Mount Pleasant, WI – Permanent, fully onsite role.
About the role
Support consistent product quality and food safety in a high-volume bakery production environment. Perform routine and detailed quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, finished goods, and food manufacturing equipment while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting internal audits.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished products to ensure they meet established specifications and food safety standards.
- Conduct routine swab tests and other sanitation-related checks on food manufacturing equipment and production areas.
- Complete and maintain accurate quality documentation, records, and logs in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support and participate in internal quality audits to verify compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Inspect production lines and equipment to identify potential quality or safety issues and promptly report findings.
- Follow and enforce SOPs and quality control procedures throughout the production process.
- Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to address quality concerns and support continuous improvement.
- Monitor and verify that equipment cleaning and sanitation practices support safe and consistent food production.
- Communicate quality issues, non-conformances, and trends clearly to supervisors and relevant team members.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work area in alignment with food manufacturing best practices.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in a quality role within a food manufacturing facility.
- Hands-on experience performing quality checks on food manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with quality documentation, including accurate recordkeeping and completion of quality forms and logs.
- Experience performing or supporting quality audits in a manufacturing environment.
- Practical knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles in food production.
- Ability to follow and apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) consistently.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting products, equipment, and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively on a 1st shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in a production environment.
Qualifications
- Degree in a science-related field is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with bakery or similar food manufacturing processes.
- Comfort working with large-scale production equipment such as mixers and ovens.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with production, sanitation, and leadership teams.
- Commitment to food safety, product quality, and continuous improvement.
Work Environment
This role is based in a food manufacturing facility with multiple bakery production lines, where each line produces different products depending on daily order demands. The environment includes large mixers, ovens, and equipment that often must be taken apart and hand washed, presenting unique challenges for sanitation and cleanliness. 1st shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Pay
$45,760.00 – $52,000.00 per year.
