Responsibilities

  • Understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Ensure safe and sanitary working conditions in accordance with Company standards, state & federal laws and regulations.
  • Conduct safety training topics as required or needed.
  • Attend all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
  • Investigate accidents and near misses, complete reports, and take action to eliminate root causes.
  • Report injuries, unsafe acts or conditions, or failures of plant equipment to the Plant Manager or Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Perform in-process testing or inspection of product as required by Victaulic specifications.
  • Record findings or results of tests/inspections and notify QA Manager of any non-conformances or discrepancies.
  • Operate CMM and follow up with appropriate actions as required.
  • Conduct internal audits of processes and procedures, including manufacturing set-up and production.
  • Collect daily scrap for assigned shift and perform analysis to make recommendations for improvements.
  • Acquire general knowledge of product being manufactured including fit, form, and function.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions with complex machining, assembly, and/or testing issues.
  • Implement corrective and preventative actions, as required.
  • Develop training plans and materials, conduct training, and maintain professional competency.
  • Perform technical duties or special assignments as assigned by the Plant Manager or QA Manager.
  • Possess the authority to make disposition on and release product to next process including release to customer.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate, or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a quality-related role preferred.
  • Read and understand engineering procedures, drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Basic knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Accurately use calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, hardness test equipment, and other precision variable gauges.
  • Use a computer.
  • Preferred exposure to MS Word and Excel (or similar).
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Work second or third shift, as designated, and occasional Saturdays or overtime during the week.
