About the Role
Villari Foods is seeking Quality Control Technicians for our Warsaw, NC warehouse location. The right candidate will have a strong work ethic, leadership skills, and impeccable organizational skills. Our Quality Control team ensures our company meets or exceeds quality control programs designed to result in continuous production of products consistent with established standards, including training new employees on these procedures.
Responsibilities
- Ensure HACCP CCPs are verified and documented based on regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure Slaughter CCPs are met for milk, ingesta, fecal, and offal.
- Ensure RTE cook and chilling CCPs are met.
- Ensure heat treated not fully cooked (HTNFC) chilling CCPs are met.
- Ensure raw intact and raw non-intact CCPs are met.
- Conduct quality audits on product temperatures, label checks, metal detection, packaging checks, weight control, verify brine formulation and pump checks, blending of ingredients, and restricted ingredients.
- Adhere to product specifications during harvesting and on finished packaged products.
- Ensure segregation is followed throughout each step of special claims handling.
- Ensure all GMPs are followed.
- Comply with all SSOP guidelines and quality manual policies.
- Perform monthly internal audits at the direction of the SQF Practitioner.
- Communicate quality and facility issues to QC Supervisor.
- Maintain a safe work environment following company procedures and safety regulations.
- Perform other tasks as directed.
Requirements
- GED or High school diploma.
- 1-year experience in a related field (high-volume food manufacturing preferred).
- Excellent plant regulatory and HACCP skills.
- Excellent communication skills — both written and oral.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, AS400, and Lotus Notes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Slaughter and animal humane experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The work environment includes cold temperatures between 50°F to 10°F (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Villari Foods will provide cold-weather gear.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Able to drive a registered motor vehicle to satisfy daily requirements.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to speak and hear for safety and productivity.
- Use scanners, tablets, radios, phones, and other warehouse machinery.
- Frequently required to stand, use hands and/or fingers to grasp, handle, feel, reach, and pull.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
