1st Shift Production Operator

About the role

At C&S, a subsidiary of Central Garden & Pet, we produce the highest quality wildlife specialty food and feeding accessory products for the U.S. Wild Bird Feeding market. We are seeking a 1st Shift Production Operator at our Fort Dodge, IA facility (1528 Cardinal Avenue, Fort Dodge, IA 50501).

Responsibilities

• Maintain communication between Line Leaders, Co‑Workers, and Shift Supervisor.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Understand and know the goals and objectives of the department.
• Comply with all safety rules and company policies.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Report any Food Safety issues to authorized personnel for correction.
• Perform efficient machine set‑up, clean out and change‑over.
• Transfer, stage and package materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds with frequent bending, lifting and twisting.
• Proficient math skills.
• Ability to learn and operate forklift and handcart safely.
• Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual.
• Ability to operate a RF scanner device.
• Ability to bend, twist, turn and climb.
• Solid organizational skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Pay

$22/hour

Schedule

Monday through Thursday 6:00am to 4:00pm, Overtime as needed.
