About the role

The Production Coordinator supports daily manufacturing operations by helping plan, organize, and track production activities to ensure schedules, quality standards, and operational goals are met. This role works closely with production, materials, quality, maintenance, and warehouse teams to coordinate workflow, resolve scheduling issues, and maintain accurate production records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to communicate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The work is on-site (5 days).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily production schedules to support on-time completion of manufacturing goals
  • Monitor workflow, production status, and material availability to minimize delays
  • Communicate schedule changes, priorities, and production updates to supervisors and cross-functional teams
  • Track production output, downtime, shortages, and other key operational metrics
  • Ensure work order closure. Identify roadblocks for work orders. Track individual serialized products as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, reports, and system data
  • Partner with inventory, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when needed
  • Support resolution of production issues by escalating concerns and coordinating follow-up actions
  • Assist with capacity planning and labor allocation based on production demands
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and operational procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve workflow
  • Prepare reports and summaries for leadership on production performance and schedule adherence
  • Support audits, recordkeeping, and general administrative coordination for the production department

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain, or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production coordination, scheduling, or operations support preferred
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP or production planning systems preferred
  • Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and support problem-solving efforts
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or plant environment
  • May require standing, walking, and moving between office and production floor areas
  • May occasionally lift light materials or supplies, depending on site needs
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment may be required in designated areas

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production flow, and inventory coordination
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
  • Experience tracking KPIs such as output, downtime, scrap, and schedule attainment
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing production priorities

Pay

Hourly base pay: $30.95

This is a non-incentive, non-commission eligible role. Compensation may vary based on factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.

This role is designated as safety sensitive and may require additional drug screening.
