1st Shift Material Handler

About the role
The 1st Shift Material Handler supports manufacturing operations by accurately pulling materials, delivering inventory to production lines, maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counting, and unloading incoming shipments. This role ensures materials are available to support window production in a fast-paced environment while following all safety procedures and collaborating with Production, Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse teams.
Responsibilities
- Pull and stage materials according to production schedules, work orders, pour requests, or pick lists.
- Deliver required components and raw materials to designated production lines in a timely manner.
- Replenish production line inventory as needed to prevent downtime.
- Unload incoming trucks safely and efficiently using material handling equipment.
- Verify incoming materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.
- Put away received materials into designated inventory locations.
- Perform routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies to supervision.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions using warehouse management systems and handheld scanners.
- Organize warehouse inventory and maintain clean, orderly storage areas.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices where applicable.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and other warehouse functions as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, inventory control, or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment preferred.
- Basic computer skills and experience using inventory management systems.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, inventory reports, and receiving documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and lift materials.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures common in a warehouse and manufacturing facility.
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment.
Schedule
Monday–Friday (weekends based on production), 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
Location
