1st Shift Material Handler (13374)

About the role

Somic America is looking for dependable, motivated individuals to join our Manufacturing team as a Material Handler. As a Material Handler, you'll play an important role in keeping our production operations running smoothly by ensuring materials and components are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.

Responsibilities

• Deliver raw materials and components to machining and assembly lines
• Move finished products throughout the facility and into shipping
• Load and unload pallets, crates, and containers
• Replenish production materials and component hoppers
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (training provided if needed)
• Verify materials for accuracy and quality
• Maintain organized work areas while supporting our 5S workplace standards
• Assist with recycling activities, including cardboard baling
• Follow standardized work procedures and all safety requirements
• Suggest ideas to improve efficiency and workplace safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Comfortable using basic math and reading work instructions
• Forklift experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right candidate

Physical Requirements

This is an active position requiring standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift. Candidates should be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
