Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements to prevent equipment failures.
- Identify root causes of equipment malfunctions using diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical knowledge.
- Fix or replace defective mechanical components such as bearings, belts, gears, pumps, and motors.
- Ensure machines operate safely and efficiently to support continuous production or facility operations.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals to guide repairs and installations.
- Assemble, align, and calibrate new machinery or mechanical systems.
- Inspect equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify potential hazards.
- Track parts usage, request replacements, and ensure tools are in proper working condition.
- Record repairs, parts used, downtime, and maintenance history in logs or CMMS systems.
- Communicate equipment status, coordinate repairs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills / Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical school or vocational training
- Effective communication with operators, supervisors, and vendors
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
- Preventive and predictive maintenance
- Equipment installation, alignment, and calibration
- Basic electrical knowledge (motors, sensors, wiring)
- Welding, fabrication, and machining
- Using diagnostic tools and measurement instruments
