1st Shift Machine Operator
About the role
Hood Container Corporation is seeking a Machine Operator to run their Baysek Machine on 1st shift in Louisville, KY.
Responsibilities
- Operate die-cutter safely and efficiently to meet daily production goals.
- Set up, adjust, and monitor the die-cutting process according to job specifications.
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure accuracy and conformance with customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot and correct minor mechanical issues with minimal downtime.
- Communicate machine performance issues to maintenance or supervision as needed.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately and on time.
- Absorb and assist in changeovers and clean-up to maintain machine efficiency and product quality.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company safety policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of machine operator experience in a corrugated manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience operating printing and die-cutting equipment (Bobst preferred) is a strong plus.
Technical Skills
- Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.).
- Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with basic computer systems and data entry for production tracking.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Work in a fast-paced, noisy, industrial environment with varying temperatures.
- Must be able to work 1st Shift and overtime as needed.
