1st Shift Lead-Master Scale
About the role
The candidate must be able to perform the job in his/her assigned area or responsibility in accordance to plant POG procedures. Master Scale person must have knowledge of the company policies and procedures. Must be able to pull or lift up to 75 pounds and must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time. Must possess the ability to communicate with management at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Aid in setting up, assembling, operating, and post-production activities.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections of assigned areas to ensure successful production starts.
- Collaborate with the production supervisor to ensure processes comply with plant and USDA procedures.
- Periodically verify sanitation compliance.
- Complete HACCP, SSOP, and production-related processing documentation.
- Update shop floor control boards with accurate performance, safety, and communication-based information.
- Ensure associates adhere to company GMP policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned areas.
- Assist with daily activities, including communication or process changes.
- Participate in job rotation and training.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Pass a background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical.
- Basic math and typing skills.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Some positions may require reading, writing, and/or speaking English.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities.
- Work in damp and cold environments for long periods of time.
- Operate in a wet environment, standing for long periods of time, and operating processing equipment.
- Must wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to work with raw and/or cooked meat.
Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
- Work in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities.
- Must be able to work in damp and cold environments for long periods of time.
- Must be physically capable of working extended hours if needed and in a wet environment, standing for long periods of time, and operating processing equipment.
