Duties and Responsibilities
- Support production through effective and timely equipment downtime troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement equipment process improvements through the use of technology and automation.
- Install new equipment, run power drops to equipment (480VAC and under), CAT5 communication cable runs, and facility lighting upkeep.
- Infrared scanning of power distribution equipment, installation of power distribution systems, bend and run conduit, pull wire, and general facility electrical maintenance and upkeep.
- Troubleshoot equipment and/or processes using electrical theory, meters, equipment manuals, and schematics.
- Communicate and interface with suppliers as needed.
- Aid in operational debugging of machine controllers, motors, motor controls, sensors, and related components.
- Train lesser experienced electricians and mechanics to improve department skills and abilities.
- Aid in machine validation, both internally and at the customer's facility, while maintaining Tarkett work ethics and standards.
- Communicate with the project team to maintain project awareness.
- Assist the controls engineer and/or automation technician in keeping schematics and backup programs of PLCs, HMIs, camera systems, etc., current and correct.
- Attend technical training classes as deemed necessary and share acquired knowledge with peers and electrical maintenance personnel.
- Work independently and stay focused without supervision.
- Advance skills, abilities, and knowledge to be promotable to Electrician 2 and Controls Technician.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5 - 7 years related experience and/or technical training in Electrical Troubleshooting, Basic Electricity, motors, VFD’s and motor controls.
- Associate’s Degree in electrical/electronics engineering (optional but preferred).
- Trained in and accountable for lock out/tag out policies and procedures.

- Must have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to work independently and follow safety protocols.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
