About the role

The CNC OPERATOR MACHINIST position involves producing machined parts through programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters;
  • Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T);
  • Check stock to determine amount available; place and expedite orders for stock; verify receipt of stock;
  • Enter instructions into part programs; set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements;
  • Install and adjust chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicate vices; tram heads;
  • Lift stock into position;
  • Measure positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhere to Anchor Harvey standards;
  • Handle drilling, grooving, and cutting operations; take measurements; detect malfunctions; troubleshoot processes; adjust and reprogram controls; sharpen and replace tools;
  • Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes;
  • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations;
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements; follow manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoot malfunctions; call for repairs;
  • Document actions in production and quality logs;
  • Participate in educational opportunities; read technical publications;
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
