1st Shift Cage Repair

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize live haul trailers and cages.
• Perform all necessary paperwork associated with assigned job (e.g. work orders, charge parts, etc.).
• Inspect and repair cages, adhering to DOT and animal welfare guidelines and regulations.
• Drive various heavy duty equipment pieces safely.
• General housekeeping duties, maintaining neat, clean and orderly work area.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Relative maintenance experience (e.g. cutting, grinding, welding, etc.).
• Basic math functions and skills.
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
• Able to operate yard equipment (e.g. forklift, yard truck, tractor, etc.).
• Able to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Able to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.

Preferred Education And Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cage maintenance experience.

Safety Requirements

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Physical Requirements

• Stand up to 8 hours.
• Lift up to 60 lbs.
• Frequent exposure to outdoor environment.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling.
• Work around raw, live animal odors.
• Work in noisy environment (>85 decibels) and moving equipment.
