About the role

This position reports to the Welding Supervisor and Welding Lead. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties with authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

The Robot Welder performs duties associated with all areas of robotic welding parts for production.

Responsibilities

  • Weld parts to schedule and Work Instruction (WI) specifications.
  • Verify with Quality 1st piece inspection.
  • Hammer-stamp on all products produced.
  • Count and label products correctly.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties of the welding area as required and assigned.
  • Meet or exceed efficiency rates and quality welding standards.
  • Remove non-conforming material at the end of the shift.
  • Perform any additional duties logically inherent to this position or as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of High School education or GED.
  • Previous MIG welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely stand, twist, lift, bend, stoop, reach, and kneel daily while performing work.
  • Ability to follow, understand, and strictly abide by Work Instructions (WI).
  • Ability to work safely and productively at all times while wearing required OSHA PPE.
  • Highly dependable, motivated, and self-driven with excellent attendance.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Able to use handheld and power-driven tools correctly and safely.
  • Must pass pre-established company visual and penetration standards as determined by supervision.
  • Able to read and comprehend blueprints accurately.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and rotating amongst various machines (e.g., Press).
  • Ability to work in all welding department areas with varied part/product weights and sizes.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to gain knowledge, understanding, and compliance with JOST Basic Processes, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Able to read and write legibly as defined by company standards.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a manufacturing setting. While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Stand 8–10 hours during shift.
  • Walk, see, hear, use hands, reach, stoop, bend, and twist.
  • Occasionally lift or move objects weighing a minimum of 41 pounds to a maximum of 51 pounds.
