1st Shift 6am-2pm(M-F) -->Forklift Operator MI

About the role

This position reports to the Supervisor of the area they are working in (e.g., Assembly, Welding, Shipping, etc.). The Forklift Operator is responsible for the movement of material in the warehouse and production areas using a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move materials and inventory.
• Ensure efficient delivery of materials to various production lines.
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, or carriers.
• Place finished products and materials in designated, labeled areas.
• Rearrange Kan-Ban materials monthly to prioritize the use of oldest materials first.
• Perform daily maintenance checks to verify the forklift is in good working order.
• Ensure all materials being moved are properly labeled and stored in the correct areas.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or logically inherent to the position.

Requirements

• General knowledge of forklift operation and material handling.
• Ability to obtain forklift Training Certification/Operator Permit as defined by company standards.
• Basic math skills and ability to read and write legibly as defined by company standards.
• Understanding of basic processes and ability to learn company products and quality procedures.

Physical Demands

• Regularly sit, stand, walk, see, hear, reach, bend, twist, push, and pull.
• Occasionally stoop, kneel, lift, or move objects up to 51 pounds with or without assistance.
