Global Leadership Academy is seeking a passionate, student-centered First Grade Teacher to join our Arts Campus team. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, relationship building, and fostering a positive classroom culture where students feel safe, supported, and challenged to grow.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned to Florida B.E.S.T. Standards.
• Utilize approved curriculum resources and instructional materials to support student achievement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including ESOL, ESE, and academically advanced learners.
• Create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that promote critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies that foster a safe and productive learning environment.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Maintain accurate and timely student records, grades, and documentation.

Classroom Environment

• Establish a positive classroom culture built on respect, responsibility, and high expectations.
• Promote student engagement through meaningful learning activities and strong teacher-student relationships.
• Support the social-emotional development of students through consistent routines and positive reinforcement.
• Maintain an organized, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

Collaboration and Communication

• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
• Collaborate with instructional coaches, interventionists, administrators, and support staff to improve student outcomes.
• Work closely with grade-level teammates to ensure instructional consistency and alignment.

Professional Responsibilities

• Demonstrate professionalism and adherence to school policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school operations.
• Participate in schoolwide initiatives, events, and activities that support the mission and vision of Global Leadership Academy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Florida Educator Certificate or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Strong knowledge of elementary instructional practices and child development.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Effective classroom management and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and student achievement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Florida certification in Elementary Education preferred.
• Reading Endorsement preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Previous elementary teaching experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• Frequently required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer and classroom equipment.
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to move throughout the campus and supervise students in various school settings.
