About the role

Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (BROD) is a newly authorized Type 2 Charter school part of the Discovery Schools Charter Management Organization. We are excited to bring Discovery education to the Baton Rouge area through our second corporate partnership with Ochsner Health. The school opened in August for the 2023-24 school year, starting with grades PreK4 - 4th and will eventually educate students in grades PreK - 8th at full capacity.

Responsibilities

• Teach elementary education curriculum aligned with Louisiana Student Standards and LEAP assessment
• Implement Guided Reading, Fountas and Pinnell assessment, and Writing Workshop as appropriate
• Lead extracurricular student activities as interest and opportunity permit

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Elementary Education
• Two (2) years of experience with children in a school setting preferred
• Interest in leading extracurricular student activities

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Louisiana Student Standards and LEAP assessment
• Familiarity with Guided Reading, Fountas and Pinnell assessment, and Writing Workshop
