Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, sample, and test aggregates, asphalt, or other materials for the purpose of quality control.
  • Sample and test mixtures to stay in compliance with contract specifications and quality control tolerance.
  • Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure our products meet or exceed requirements of the appropriate agency or customer.
  • Prepare and record accurate information; maintain test results database.
  • Follow quality control plans and guidelines as assigned.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Perform general cleaning of work areas daily.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in Asphalt Paving & Construction.
  • Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Must be positive, friendly and professional.
  • Able to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • Available for overtime, extended hours and weekends as required.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
  • Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Excel, Outlook, Word, and other computer operating systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus on timeliness and responsiveness.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a pleasant, courteous, and calm manner in all circumstances.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be multi-task oriented.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and their impact on project activities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) essential.
  • Ability to organize the data received and streamline the process of proposed job duties.

Working Conditions

  • Be available for overtime, extended hours, overnight, and weekends as required.
  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Proper PPE is required at all times.
