Position Summary
The NDT Trainee is responsible for actively participating in a structured training program to become certified in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). This role will be reporting to NDT Level 3 and involves assisting with testing procedures, following safety regulations, and gaining hands-on experience in the field.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Document participation in a training program for stated NDT method.
- Obtain experience under the direct observation of a Level 2 or Level in the same method.
- Gain experience under the direct observation of a Level 1 or instructor when approved by the responsible Level 3.
- Assist with NDT inspections but do not independently conduct tests or make accept/reject decisions.
- Support department staff as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate, read, and understand English.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to work around hazardous chemicals.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
Physical Demands
- Walking/standing for prolonged periods.
- Exposure to heat, noise, and chemical fumes in production areas.
- Good hand-eye coordination and repetitive hand movements.
