1468 - Technical Writer
Sigma Defense is seeking a Technical Writer who can convey information pertaining to our developed systems and procedures in a simple and concise manner for our customers. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with a strong interest in technology and a willingness to interact with subject matter experts across a variety of disciplines.
Requirements
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
- Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences
- Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Education Requirements: Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a writing or science related field of study. Can substitute four or more years of experience as an effective technical writer for college degree.
Personnel Clearance Level: Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher. Clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive documentation pertaining to the systems that we deliver to our customers, communicating this information in a simple and concise manner
- Research, outline, write, and edit content while working closely with various departments to understand project requirements
- Gather information from subject-matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
- Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise, and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage
- Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards allowing for easy data migration
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation
Pay
Salary Range: $55,000–$70,000 annually.
