About the role

Umios (formerly Maruha Nichiro) is seeking a full-time employee for a purchasing and procurement position. The company is a global food enterprise with a network of 149 companies worldwide, and is listed on the Prime Market. The annual salary for this position is between 5 million and 6 million yen.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing raw materials from around the world, selecting processing factories, developing products, and selling them in Japan. They will also be involved in overseas sales using three-country trade. Specific duties include:

• Overseas product purchasing negotiations
• Product development
• Creating product specification sheets
• Creating sales materials and estimates
• Quality control guidance
• Customer service for processing factories and raw material suppliers

The frequency of domestic and overseas travel is expected to be 3-8 times and 2-5 times per year, respectively.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in purchasing or sales at a manufacturer. Experience in the food industry, particularly in seafood, is also welcome.

Required qualifications include:

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in the food industry, particularly in seafood
• Knowledge of seafood or experience in sales
