第１２回技術交流会報告

Overview

The twelfth JTPA Technical Exchange Meeting was held at the GAP conference room in Mountain View. Six people attended, including one first-time attendee.

The next meeting is planned for November 17th (Wednesday).

Relocation

Due to the kind offer of Kishida-san, who is stationed in Gifu Prefecture Silicon Valley, the conference room of the JTPA office in Gifu Prefecture will be used for the JTPA Technical Exchange Meeting. In addition, Toshiba Electronics provided furniture such as tables and chairs for this purpose. We discussed the relocation of these items. The move was successfully completed from around 5 PM on October 21st to the morning of October 22nd. Thank you to everyone who helped and those who worked hard.

PDA Concept

Takeshi gave a presentation on the concept of voice input to the user interface and other discussions were made while listening to the explanation. The focus was on various link functions for input items, as well as their relationship with other applications and links.

Kawakami was asked to write a similar concept for image input and Yajima for handwritten input.

Other Discussions

• Discussion about the high cost of distribution in Japan compared to Europe in the context of car parts companies.
• Various other topics were discussed, including the current state of Japanese logistics costs.
