116-11 Direct Support Professional

About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them with daily activities and ensuring they are safe and comfortable.

Responsibilities

• Advocate and support individuals in their daily routines including household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and more.
• Aid individuals in attending medical appointments, banking, community activities, and other outings.
• Administer medications as per the Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and medical guidelines.
• Evacuate individuals from the home safely in case of emergencies.
• Maintain certifications and comply with agency policies and DDS regulations.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old with reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Proven record of conscientious and responsible behavior.
• Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Skills

Pay

$17.50-$19.00 per hour.
