Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting intakes.
- Physicians see patients after they have already undergone an extensive evaluation by the counselor.
- Monitor patients' clinical progress at regular group counseling sessions.
- Groups are run by specialized counseling staff; physicians participate by answering questions and managing patients’ medication dosing.
- Authorize patients' prescriptions during monthly visits with patient panels.
- Complete all notes and reporting in Groups EMR system within required timeline (providers receive full orientation/training on Clinical Protocols before eligible to begin work with Groups).
Qualifications
- Active, Unencumbered State License (MD/DO) in the State in which you are applying.
- Active, Individual DEA with address listed in the State in which you are applying (please note that if you intend on prescribing in multiple states, a separate DEA is required in each state in which you are planning on prescribing).
- DEAX designation as formerly required to prescribe Buprenorphine or proof of 8hrs of qualified training as assigned by SAMHSA will be required.
- Minimum 1 year actively prescribing Buprenorphine.
- Proof of Active Board Certification (MD or DO; any specialty).
- Ability to work in-office at least 5hrs per week.
- Eligibility for hours will commence approx. 3 months after initiation of credentialing and training.
