About the role

The 1099 Arbitrator reviews evidence submitted by both parties, applies relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and renders neutral payment decisions using a baseball-style arbitration protocol.

Responsibilities

  • Manage caseloads independently
  • Track deadlines
  • Make fair determinations based on evidence and applicable rules

Qualifications

  • Licensed attorney or healthcare provider
  • Strong writing skills
  • Own a computer with secure, reliable internet
  • Willing to work as a 1099 independent contractor

Preferred qualifications include arbitrator experience, knowledge of the No Surprises Act (NSA), and healthcare or medical coding background.
