(1055) Early Intervention Specialist

We are looking for a compassionate and innovative Early Intervention Specialist to join our team, working with infants, toddlers, and their families to empower them to overcome challenges and unlock new opportunities for growth in their child’s development.

About the role

As an Early Intervention Specialist, you will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that helps families with a child who has an identified disability and/or developmental delay by developing strategies within the families and child’s daily routine. You’ll deliver Specialized Skills Training and Case Management services to families in their natural environments—whether at home, daycare, or community settings—through a hybrid model of in-person and/or telehealth services.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with families, doctors, other professionals, and community partners to evaluate needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and track progress, helping families gain the tools to assist their child in meeting their full potential.
• Provide Specialized Skills Training to support children as they develop functional skills through fun and engaging strategies that encourage growth and independence.
• Offer Case Management by helping families access resources, services, and advocacy while ensuring they understand their rights and feel supported throughout the process.
• Use Creative Coaching Strategies by implementing the Coaching Model, allowing families to take the lead in their child’s development and integrating interventions into everyday activities.
• Practice Trauma-Informed Care, approaching every interaction with empathy and respect to create a safe and supportive environment for families.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Family Studies, Child Development, or a related major, including a minimum of 9 semester hours of course credit relevant to child development and/or early childhood intervention (with 3 hours in early childhood development or early childhood special education).
• Valid Texas driver’s license and maintenance of an approved driving record throughout employment.
• Certification training must be completed and approved within the first year of employment, as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and regulated by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish.
• Comprehensive knowledge of typical and atypical development in children birth to three years old.
• Comprehensive knowledge of childhood conditions related to the provision of early intervention services.
• Understanding of team and family dynamics, with the ability to contribute as a leader and facilitator on teams including parents, caregivers, and other professional staff.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision with strong initiative, discretion, independent judgment, and self-motivation.
• Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, as well as time management, organization, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to comprehend and adhere to family-centered, activity-based early intervention practices.
• Ability to work sensitively with families from a variety of cultural orientations.

Pay

Hourly salary range: $22.22 – $28.97, with the following differentials:

• $1.00/hour for 2 years of previous experience.
• $0.75/hour for bilingual skills.
• Up to $4.00/hour for tenure with BTCS.
• $1.00/hour for advanced licensure.

Annual salary range: $46,217.60 - $60,257.60.

Location

Burnet and Williamson Counties, including Round Rock, Georgetown, and Marble Falls, Texas.
