About the role

Security Officer covers posts such as customer counters, employee entrances, vehicle entrances, guard houses, gates, construction gates, parking lots, perimeters, etc. The role involves screening employees (in/out) and personal baggage at pedestrian and vehicle entrances, verifying seal controls on vehicles, verifying identity badges, managing temporary badge processes, conducting roving patrols, monitoring CCTV, operating X-ray machines, and performing additional duties related to security.

Responsibilities

• Screens employees (in/out) and personal baggage at pedestrian and vehicle entrances
• Verifies seal controls on vehicles at gateway (cut and apply seals)
• Verifies identity badges of personnel for clearance, screens vehicles
• Manages temporary badge process
• Conducts roving patrols, on foot or in vehicle around perimeter fences, gates, buildings, warehouses, storage areas, switchyards etc.
• Identifies fire hazards, unauthorized activity, malfunctioning utilities, hazardous conditions
• Maintains security of premises by performing additional duties as required
• Performs emergency duties requiring physical exertion such as standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs., and running

Requirements

• Reliable transportation
• Physically capable of performing the assigned work
• Valid driver's license
• Able to meet all applicable licensing, registration, and certification requirements in the state where the officer's assigned facility is located
• Communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Veteran status (Inter-Con is passionate about hiring veterans)
• Security Guard Registration Card
